Yorkshire says NO to fracking
Following the decision by North Yorkshire County Council to approve a fracking application at Kirby Misperton despite overwhelming local opposition, campaigners have applied for a judicial review. On the 30th July, more than 2,000 people came to the rally, to show their objections to the decision and say NO to fracking in Yorkshire. The protest started with a march from Clifford's Tower (the Eye of York) to York Minster, and ended with speeches. You can watch part of the march in the below video.
You can click here to be able to watch the speeches that were made, which include the medical issues of living with fracking, how trade unions are against fracking, as well as representatives of the Green Party and Friends of the Earth, and Tina Rothery, voicing their objections.
